this is the truth about this business it has over glamorized on TV the reality of the business is it is run by alcoholics and drug addicts and mostly low life's because they don't not have educational requirements to get better jobs. If you never worked in a restaurant before then you will mostly likely be starting off washing dishes for about a year making only minimum wage. depending on where you live it you won't make more then $10.00/hr meaning your annual income will only be about $22,000 this is in the very low end tax bracket. You will be working nights and weekends which means you will miss out on a lot stuff your fds and family are doing. Getting raises/pay increases or bonuses are few and far in between. I'm sorry if i am sounding extremely discouraging but i spent 10 years in this business and i wish somebody would have told me what I am telling you because I would have reconsidered my options. I got out of the business and got an entry lvl job of something a no experience with a higher starting wage then i made in those ten years. I make more money i get better benefits and my job is more relaxing. Do what you want fella but be ready for a rough go at for awhile.
