>I am doing just fine. Your problem is - there are different kinds of RAM and the one kind of RAM from the one computer does not work or conflicts with the RAM in the other computer. You cannot just stick any ole' RAM into a computer and get it to work. Sometimes, the SAME RAM type from two different manufacturers when mixed, will conflict and not work. Sometimes, the SAME RAM from the same manufacturer but has two different CAS Latency timings will not work.
So I figure, you either have incompatible RAM, BAD RAM (yeah, that too) or WRONG RAM type.
Also, if you are wrong about the capacity and the capacity exceeds what the BIOS will take, this can cause your problem too.
Either the new memory is of a different speed, or the old comp cannot handle the increase in size. If you go to www.crucial.com and type in the computer name/model, it should list memory type, speed, max memory and configuration. This may help pinpoint the problem.
To test memory you can download MEMTEST which you will need to put on bootable media and boot from.
