Planning a cruise to Cozumel and Playa Del Carmen?
Best places to shop in both of these places and best prices with the best value. Looking for pottery and silver jewelry. Also good places to eat mexican food.
Both places are full with exactly what your are looking for. There are so many it is hard to start to answer your question. Once your ship docks in Cozumel take the transfer into the town of San Miguel and start walking through the zocolo or the town square. Shops for silver will be on the main street Rafael E. Melgar Blvd. Off this Blvd you will find the pottery shops.
La Mission And the El Fago are good Mexican styled restaurants in Cozumel.
Playa del Carmen. If you come to Playa to the old pier the one to the south of town this is the main pier walk up to 5th Av. ( 5th Ave. is the worlds famous walkable shopping street) and right on the first corner of 5th and Juarez is your first silver shop to be followed by 100's. Mixed alone will be your pottery shops bars and restaurants. For a Mexican feel with English spoken stop at Tequila Barrel 5th between calle (ki ya)10th and 15th tell them I sent you. La Raya on Calle 2 on the beach great seafood and a hamburger as well for great prices.
My last piece of advice is to beware of what you are buying at the jewelry shops. Remember gold silver diamonds and rae stones are priced on a world market scale.A guarantee is good but are you coming back here to have them honor your guarantee and will they still be in business? Buyer be ware. Check out this web site.
