My husband lost his job and im unemployed. Hes been out of work for 2 weeks now. We've put out applications everywhere but no one is hiring. We have a 3 yr old daughter and our bills are starting to lapse. WE've applied everywhere..all the jobs in my husbands field on careerbuilder.com and i've been applying as well. What can we do? How long will this last? What are some other ways we can make money so we dont lose everything?

Many people are in your position. First, we need to kick all of the illegals out of the country. Then all of the citizens would have plenty of jobs to choose from.
Are you willing to do anything? Apply for jobs that you normally wouldn't apply for. Many employers are tired of their slack employees and are waiting for some seemingly "overqualified" people to start rolling through. If you work hard, they will probably promote you quickly and you will be right back where you started in no time.
It is time to look outside the box. It is the holiday season and most retail stores are hiring temporary help for the holidays. Go and apply tomorrow. Check out pizza or other delivery jobs. It isn't glamorous but the tips add up. Look for ANY job in any field. This is not the time to be picky. This could last another year or two so don't limit yourselves to any one type of job. Look at everything and apply for anything reasonable.
A lot of people are actually facing the same problem. I was a house wife for 4 months and now I was hired as a seasonal employee at BBW. It is not the type of job that I want to get, but you know in this economy, I will take anything even though I have a BA.
No joke, get an application at McDonalds or maybe a retail job like Forever 21. Tell your husband to do the same, try to work a lot of hours too. I'm sorry this is happening but every after storm there is sun, keep ur head up!
you may have to find work in a different field. or find a lower paying job you don't like just to make ends meet. or find several part time jobs. do what you must but make it happen. lots of people in the same boat.
Rake leaves, clean homes, do minor repairs, babysit.... Figure out what skills you and your husband have. Advertise in the free section of the local paper or craigslist.
A lot of people will pay for holiday shoppers, gift wrappers and personal assistants.
