it isa very sad story about a mother who is having twins but cant afford to support them both. she is working as a maid for a rich lady who cant have kids of her own. Together they decide to give one baby to the rich lady )mrs johnson i think) and the poor lady keeps one too. Later, after the babies grow up(one rich and well brought up, the other poor and a hoodlum, they fall for the same girl. They never knew about the adpotion so they hate eachother. Eventually they get in a fight and the poor boy shoots the other. When this happens, the rich boys security guards shoot the poor brother, but not before his mother yells out that they were brothers. Both boys die.

its a wonderful musical with excellent music (especially the dong called "my child" where the two ladies discuss how the boys will grow up, one rich one poor.)
