What generation?

Luxray is a lot of fun to have in gen IV.

Zebstrika is really good in gen V.

Ampharos is awesome in gen II (and everywhere else available).

Jolteon is probably the best non-legendary electric pokemon there is in gen I.

Manectric is good in Gen III.

Favorite overall is either Ampharos (esp. in gen V when it gets power gem and signal beam) or Jolteon.

Electabuzz is a fun one to raise but magneton has the extra edge by being a steel type as well. It can withstand almost every attack except fighting.

It matters on what game you have. If you have Firered or Leafgreen, I love Jolteon. If you are playing Black or White I love Zebstrika, but you might want to start with its undeveloped form, Blitzle.

but then again psychic and ghost do a great job handling it themselves
