Two cars are traveling towards an intersection.
One car is 18 miles away and is traveling at 30 mph. A second car is 28.05 miles away and is traveling at 45 mph.
Which car will reach the intersection first, and by how many hours?

required time to reach the intersection
for 1st car = 18/30 = 0.60 hr
for 2nd car = 28.05/45 = 0.62333333333333333333333333333333....... hr
so 1st car will reach first
by (0.62333333333333333333333333333333..... - 0.6) hr
= 0.02333333333333333333333333333333... hr
= 1.4 min
= 1 min 24 sec

The car 18 miles away will get to the intersection at 36 minutes, the car 28.05 miles away will get to the intersection at 37.4 minutes.
18/30= 0.6
28.05/45=0.62
