I have a ttr125 that has been sitting for a while and don't want to take apart the carb and I was wondering if there was a easier way to clean it. I know that using premium has will keep everything cleaner but will it clean a slightly gunked up carb?

If the jets and idle passages in a carb are totally gummed up nothing with fix it(including Sea Foam) except a tear down and cleaning. Premium gas will do nothing for cleaning.
No. Gasoline, even premium has volatile compounds that break down and create deposits that block and ruin carburetors. If it's been sitting a while there is no way around doing the right thing, and cleaning those deposits out. Since your carbs are vented to air as well, it gives you a chance to remove anything that may be in there like water contamination.
Sea foam is an easy way to clean your fuel system if it is mildly gummed up. If it's too bad you need to do a manual cleaning, remove carb and clean it. Premium gas is less volatile, made to help with pre ignition, it won't help clean.
seems such as you purchased the quite a few soapy water inner ... possibly the two by way of the gas line (once you drained the tank) or by way of the air filter out boot (once you wiped sparkling the filter out)... drop the flow bowl off the backside of the carb ... intently, as to not spill the gas it fairly is in it... look heavily at that to make certain if there is water interior the backside (water separates from the gas, will look like a lava lamp stream interior the gas). would are additionally turning out to be to be water interior the exhaust as guardrailjim mentioned, that would desire to burn out upon working the engine a jiffy... the backfiring sounds extra in lines with undesirable gas / water if it substitute into working high quality in any different case previous to washing it...
PREMIUM GAS IS *** A WASTE OF MONEY *** IN MOST CIRCUMSTANCES. CONTACT A BIKE DEALER AND ASK ABOUT A CARBURETOR CLEANER.
