My eyes are deep dark brown, & I've noticed that when I put my contacts on, my eyes look a nice amount brighter.
Is it something in my prescription?
If you know, what is it specifically in the prescription that makes this so?
Is there other things in prescription contacts that can alter eye color in other ways?

my contacts are transparent blue (this is a factory default so that users can see them easily) this is great because I have blue eyes and it realy makes them stand out. I don't think that there is anything in the prescription that makes this so. However you can get prescription coloured contact lenses, some which are translucent and let your natural colour show through and others that are opaque and completly change your eye colour.
Are you noticing it because you are looking up close into a mirror? Try standing a few feet away from a mirror and see if you can still notice it.
I don't think your prescription has anything to do with it. Did you wear contacts before and noticed it only now or did you just start wearing them and noticed it?
Either way it sounds pretty normal.
You would know if your lenses had any color-changing "power" because you would see the color on the lens.
It may just be in your head, or the lens may cause more light to reflect off your eye. I don't see this making much of a difference, though. Your eyes could also water up a bit after putting them in, and this could also cause more light to reflect.
Ask your optometrist if you're still unsure and truly feel something is going on.
yes but if prescription contacts bugged you or hurt/irritated your eyes these will do the same. but for your question color contacts come in prescription and non-prescription
only if you can visibly see that your lense is tinted will it cause your eye color to be different.... they tint the lenses for eye color change.... with dark eyes it is more difficult to change the color
