Most of the time, my car starts right up. But sometimes (often lately) it wont start for a half hour or so, and then finaly it struggles and starts. Then the next time I try to start it, it starts back up fine. Anybody know whats going on? Is the fuel pump going bad?
Thanks,
David

My husband had this problem with his '91 Honda Civic SI and turns out it was the coil and ignition control mod.
You always want to start with the battery. Make sure that you have real good metal to metal contact at the terminals. You must have a good 12.5V reading on the battery. You may want to load test it. I have only seen fuel pumps fail in hondas when the get hot! If your battery is 3 or more years old. I would get a new one. Make sure that the regular maintenence has been done to the engine.
1 ALWAYS check your fuses #2 check for spark... if you get no spark the ignition control module (ICM) and the coil are probably bad #3 no fuel, turn the key to the "on" position and listen for a whirring sound.
