Here are some of my beliefs if that helps:
I don't believe you have to tell a priest your sins. i think you can just prey and say God i know i sin, please forgive me. But i do think its a good idea for a priest to cleans you every now and than.
i believe sex should wait till marriage.
i believe being gay is not a sin.
i believe Jesus died on the cross. and is the son of God.
hope that helped you more.
Update:Religion is not important, relationship with God is what that matters.
a lot have said that; but how do i get a relationship with God without a religion to look onto a bible or something?!

Protestant sounds more like you. Also, I'm relatively sure all Christians believe Jesus died on the cross for their sins and is the son of God.
I grew up in a Lutheran (Protestant) church. Confession was during mass and everyone kneeled at the same time and told their sins to God through prayer. The Pastor then obsolved everyone with a prayer.
There was also a very open-minded view on homosexuality.
The biggest differences, I think, are that Protestants tend to see the lessons of the Bible more symbolically than Catholics do and there is generally no worship of saints in protestant churches.
My spirituality has led me elsewhere to be honest, but I still have a lot of respect and love for the community I grew up with in my Protestant church.
If you believe in Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Than you are a Christian !
Nowhere in the Bible does it say you have to be a
Specific Denomination.
And if someone tells you that you have to be,
Ask them to show you "Where in the Bible does it Say That."
And you need to start reading the Bible for yourself with understanding.
Because some of your beliefs are not acceptable to God.
A Priest does not clean you ,God does.
Homosexuality is an abomination in Gods Eyes.
I am not judging you, but am discerning your Information.
And you need to know the Truth that the Bible gives us,
This is Gods letter to us, letting us know that Truth !
We are talking about your Soul - (Spiritual Body) !
For one, from the few things you have described I am not sure how Catholicism is even an option for you.
I have a question for you, if you believe the Bible is God's Word how can you believe that homosexuality is ok? Please feel free to e-mail I would love to talk to you about a few things. [email protected] Don't hesitate to ask anything you want and I will help you as best as I can and everything I tell you, I can show you that its biblical.
In case you were wondering, I am Baptist. Many years ago Baptist and Protestants were alot alike but they since have parted doctrines. Everything I believe I base on God's Word not mans.
Catholicism is the largest faith of Christianity. In fact, it is the original Christian Church, from which all other denominations stemmed. Only after Martin Luther led his band of rebels to break away from Christ's Church in the 1500s (the Protestant Rebellion) did more than one branch of Christianity exist. Since then, the Protestant denomination has split further into the 38,000+ (yes, 38 thousand) churches we see today; all of which claim to be the sole church that correctly interprets God's Word with the aid of the Holy Spirit.
Catholics believe that the Church is a divinely guided authority, aided by the Holy Spirit (Mat. 16: 18-19). We believe that the OFFICIAL Church Catechisms are infallible truth. Catholics have two sources for theological information: Holy Tradition and Holy Scripture. This way, God can still work in our lives in ways that make sense to us. He can still reveal Himself to us by way of His Church.
Protestants, on the other hand, rejected the authority of the Church during the Protestant Rebellion in the 1500s (before this, Catholicism was the only form of Christianity, besides the Orthodox Church). They believe that the ONLY source for theological information is Holy Scripture. Some even go as far as to say that the Bible not only teaches religious truth, but also scientific and historical fact (these are the fundamentalists), and they believe that this can and does override scientific and historical accomplishment of the rest of humanity. They also practice Sola Scriptura, the heretic belief that one can read and interpret the Bible for himself, without the aid of the Holy Spirit. This is why we've seen so many breaks and divisions in the Protestant sector of Christianity (over 38,000+ Protestant churches) over the 500 years since their man-made creation; while still maintaining ONE Catholic Church over 2000 years, since Jesus Himself established it in 33A.D.
Catholicism is the ONLY faith that provides the fullness of God's Grace to a person. All sects of Christianity that aren't Catholic in fact do not contain the fullness of Christ. One can only attain what God wanted us to attain from His Son by joining the Catholic Church. For, the Catholic Church is Christ's universal gift to the world, to share, contemplate, and continue on His teachings under the aid of the Holy Spirit. No branch of Protestantism can provide this to you.
Dear sister,
this is an excellent question. Its great to see someone try to be honest and seek the truth and be open to whatever that might be.
In these last days, the Scriptures are our only safeguard. Minds sanctified (means made holy, which means our characters have been made like Jesus character rather than our original sinful characters) by The Spirit of God will understand the Scriptures in their true light and be safeguarded against error.
Rather than think "Protestant/Catholic," lets think "Bible."
What saith the Word of God concerning Gods last day remnant Church in the last days in which we are now living? Lets look at some of these things.
Firstly, Revelation 14:12 declares,
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Gods true visible body of believers also give the final threefold message of mercy and warning to the world:
Rev 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
Rev 14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
Rev 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
Rev 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
Rev 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
Rev 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Revelation also says that:
The True Church must be worldwide.
The True Church must have the testimony of Jesus which is The Spirit of Prophecy.
The True Church teaches we are saved by grace through faith
The True Church keeps the Seventh day holy (friday sunset to Saturday sunset)
May God richly bless you as you search for the truth as if digging for hidden treasure.
