FYI Sony doesn't ship anything next day. I waited a week for them to UPS my PS3 coffin (the box you send your console to them in) and they will send out your new or (most likely) refurbished PS3 in 5 to 10 business days from the time they receive it, and another 5 days for UPS to send it back. You'll be without your PS3 for a month.

and btw biggy is full of it. everything he said is bogus.

Either the fan on the system is broken because you ran it too many times in a row or sometimes if you play it alot then the inside of it will basicly melt. If you have ever herd of the red ring of death on 360, it is when a red ring appears on the T.V screen and the system shuts down and doesn't work anymore. The same thing happens with PS3s except there is no red ring. So that might have happened. If you bought the warenty at the store you bought the PS3 from you can bring it back to the place and they will give you a new one. If not then you can send it in and they will fix it.

Like Keyser said, it wont be fast. I have been waiting for my ps3 box for 11 days. Should be here tomorrow. This may be because I have a warranty and Sony wont get any more money from me, so they back-burnered me. I actually had to call a second time before they even shipped the box, they must have forgot about me and the $600 I paid for my 80gb unit last September. Do yourself a favor and call soon, and often.

well your out of warranty so they are going to make you pay 150 bucks for a refurb and you send them back your old one they fix your old one and send you back a refurb that comes with a 90 day warranty for 150 bucks i guess thats better then paying another 431 bucks thats the price of the 40gig with tax i only no this cuz i had a friend that had to do it and yes i have also had to send my PS3 in but mine was in warranty

If you have the 20GB 80GB or 60GB model, you are STUPID!!

Your not supposed to do the fan test even once, it over heats the system, and don't listen to those You Tube vids it DOES over heat the system and that's why the fan spins so fast.

If you had the 40GB thats different.

There's not much you can do and I say live with the consequences.

i have a 360 and i have had the red rings ummmm mabye call sony i guess or go back to wal-mart and make a big scene and demand a refund =)

you cant send it back to sony because its out of warranty you will have to take it to an (sensible) electronic shop and tell them to repair it if they cant you will have too buy a new one

send it back to sony. they'll fix it. don't worry it ships next day air so it shouldn't take long for you to get it back.
