Hi answerer,
I live in Los Angeles now, and I want to visit my family in Sacramento for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I don't have a car, so I would like to know if there are any transportation between Los Angeles and Sacramento, trains, bus.... I was thinking about air plane, but that option is a bit pricey for a student. I live in westside of Los Angeles btw.

If you want to fly, check Southwest Airlines. They usually have the lowest air fares.
If you want to ride train, check Amtrak.
If you want to ride the bus, check Greyhound.
All numbers are available if you search through Google.
Sacramento To Los Angeles Bus
The fastest ground transportation between LA & Sacramento would be to use Amtrak San Joaquin service which consists of a dedicated thruway bus connection from LA Union Station to Bakersfield where the train continues to Sacramento. This schedule with the through San Joaquin train to Sacramento is provided twice daily with additional departure times possible but requiring an additional bus connection from Stockton to Sacramento on some trips. As for bus service I would strongly urge you to avoid Greyhound due to poor quality & highly unpredictable service. A bus line called Transportes Intercalifornias does offer low cost service along this corridor bus be prepared to have English/Spanish communication issues. Best of luck!
yes amtrak can do this for you
you have two routing from Los Angeles
the coast starlight which departs LA at around 10:00am arrives
Sacrmento at about midnight)
or another routing is take the Amtak bus from Los Angeles
to bakersfield then the San jaquin trains to sacramento (or to I think its
martiez or Richmond and then change to the captoils)
remember during the Thanksgiving hoiliday all amtrak trains are reserved only
Amtrak is one option. Greyhound is another.
