PUERTO RICO HAS A COMMON WEALTH STATUS WITH THE US. SO TRAVELING TO PUERTO RICO IS THE SAME AS TRAVELING TO LET'S SAY HAWAII.YOU DO NOT GO THRU CUSTOMS.
YOU WILL NEED WHAT EVER DOCUMENTS YOU WOULD NEED TO TRAVEL(FLY) STATE TO STATE. IN MOST CIRCUMSTANCES A VALID STATE ISSUED ID I.E. DRIVERS LICENSE OR STATE ID.
If you are a legal immigrant in the US, then you will be just fine traveling to Puerto Rico. You will only need a state issued ID to check in at the airport. What ever ID you use here that is all you need for security matter in the airports. It will be like traveling anywhere else in US. Enjoy your trip!
Since Puerto Rico is a commonwealth of the US, going there is the same as going to any of the 50 states.
