Although Puerto Viejo is a small place it has 2-3 good clubs and the young people are 18 and up. There is a drug scene complete with occasional police stings. There is a roadblock between Puerto Viejo and Limon where vehicles are searched for contraband--- the always stop public transportation and stop other vehicles at random (but not often)..

ok, getting into drugs in Panama, get caught, and you are done. Doing drugs in Panama is kinda stupid unless you don't care to get thrown into prison for a long time, and I mean a real prison.
