My pup is now 17 months old... and is experiencing a case of diarrhea after sneaking into some chinese food... hes had it for nearly two days now... is there any way to help him get rid of the SQUIRTS?
Add some canned pumpkin to his diet for a few days, it helps form the poop into 'logs' if you would call it. I had to do that a couple of weeks ago, and it worked wonders!
Give him a bland diet for a couple of days, some plain rice with a tiny bit of chicken for example.
If it persits for more than a week, get your vet to give him a check over. Just in case the chinese is a red herring and he actually has a digestive problem.
What my vet recommends: white rice and plain baked chicken or cottage cheese for a few days and then gradually put him back on regular food. Canned pumpkin works if you add a bit to the rice and chicken but keep him off regular food for a few days then gradually transition back. If that doesn't do it within a day or so, off to the vet. Make sure he has plenty of water.
One tip: Make sure it is plain pumpkin and not pumpkin pie mix. The labels can look similar.
