A Moment of Madness

The story is about a girl, called Baptist Trewthen. She was living with her parents on St Maria’s island. Her neighbour David Heddegan very loved her. Batista’s father has sent her to study. And she found a teaching job in a town Tor-upon-Sea. But she hates his job. She has thought that David very loved her and he was a rich man. She has ended to teach. She decided to marry David. So she travels to the town of Pen-zephyr by train. But she missed the boat to the island. There she has met her old friend called Charles. She loved him, so she decided to marry him quickly. But the next day when he was swimming he has drowned. So she went home. She has said nothing that she had married Charles. The next day she marries David. They spent their honey moon in Pen-zephyr and they stayed in an expansive hotel. No tourists weren’t in the hotel, because they have brought the body of Charlie, but David didn’t know it... Baptist didn’t like about this so they returned home. But the garden man was their witness when she had married Charles. She gave him money and he went out. But he wanted more money. Baptist decided to talk David about it. But Charlie has confessed too. He had too married. He had four grown daughters. Then the daughter’s returned home. Baptist was teaching them. She hated it. But then she started to like the daughters and they were living satisfied.

Dunstan Thwaite decides to murder John Dun because he is blackmailing him. But part of Dunstand plan goes wrong and he decides not to commit the act. Ironically, Dun dies anyway, all the evidence points to Dunstan as the murderer, and he goes to his death for a crime which, technically, he did not commit.
