False. Last time I checked people didn't need a big to do stage show to pray to their deity of choice. Let them keep that nonsense in privacy of their own mind. They might be respected more often in lieu of being so showy.
He's probably talking about public schools, which is complete ********. Schools cannot MAKE a child recite a prayer or punish them for not doing so. But if a child chooses to wear religious garb, read a Bible, or silently pray before a test, they can do that. Nobody can stop them.
Back in my mother's day in school, before each day, kids recited the Pledge, and the Lord's Prayer. The reason the latter was banned in 1963 was because this is AMERICA. It is a pluralistic, multicultural nation. Not everyone is going to be Christian, even back then. To make a non-Christian child of any faith recite an obviously Christian prayer like the Lord's Prayer is wrong and infringes on their right to their own beliefs.
That is what Cameron is probably bitching about and as usual, is full of sh-t. Teachers can no longer lead prayers as they did in my mother's day and students cannot be coerced into praying or punished for not praying. But if a kid wants to pray or show their religion on their own, as long as it doesn't infringe on other students' beliefs, nobody can stop them.
There have been many instances of children not allowed to pray in school. Probably much more than reported. However, the "fun" doesn't end there. If you look online there are countless recaps of persecution. Just look.
Despite this, persecution isn't nearly as bad for people here in America as in most parts of the world. Here is a link to true persecution, where people ARE put to death by their government, and still stand by their faith. A map of the world will pop up, red dots showing where people like you and me are restricted on their beliefs. If you click on a country, say China, it will take you to a page, detailing the countries ideology, with links to known persecution information. I dare you to check it out.
Fortunately, Kirk C. does not represent Christians. No one has elected him to do so. Personally, I wish he would stop with these divisive (and false) claims he makes.
Absolutely false. Kirk Cameron is a blatant and pathalogical liar. He knows he has no truth to offer himself on behalf of his beliefs, so he tries to attack the other side by making up complete bulls--.
Kids can pray in school. They can bring in their Bibles and read them. They can form Bible study groups and prayer groups. They can do ANY of these things as long as they do it on their own time, (between classes, lunchtime, study periods, breaks, recess, after school, etc.) and as long as they are not disruptive to any of the other students or teachers, and as long as NO students are coerced, forced, or bullied into joining.

False, and Cameron's an idiot.

I can think of an easy scientific experiment to empirically prove whether this is true or false.
1) Find a kid.
2) Ask them to pray in public.
3) See if it works.

Below is very well thought out link on how much care is taken to eliminating religion from public schools.

No, that's not true.

False. Anyone can pray in public. As for public schools, students can pray as long as students are leading the prayers:

False. They can still pray but the government can't take one religion over another.
Kirk Cameron is an idiot when it comes to religion.
False.
Sorry Kirk, you used to be cute, then you went and got all fundie on me.
Not so cute anymore.
