If you take them often, yes. Once in a while? No. But if you are using them to lose weight, they are not only bad, they are dangerous. You can also become dependent on them and not be able to go without them. That's really bad, too.
I have heard that they can, but I have a condition, where daily I take em, but I am under a doctors care. You should check with your physician, for your particular situation. If you are needing them because of an issue, you health issue needs to be assessed by a doctor. If for losing weight, then you shouldn't be doing it.
they can help you in case of an emergency but try not to abuse the use of it since you can become dependant on them...that is their problem...try drinking lots of water, eating fiber, vegetables, walking or exercising and cutting down on dough...good luck!
