I am White and have Black friends. Sorry to the "we are all one colour" brigade but we quite like using racial comments to take the piss out of each other.

I dont believe this makes us ignorant. We are just comfortable with who we are and our relationship as friends.

I think that depending on who the people are and the status of comfortability that depends on if the jokes will be funny or not.

I mean I am considered to be "Other" as far as ethnic background is concerned however most people would generally assume that I am African America and I am partly. My ex-boyfriend is Caucasian and Polish and we would have racial jokes amongst one another. I mean me personally I never saw anyone for the race I only saw the person. So that is why I believe the racial joke never really bothered me.

I think they are hilarious. Racism might not be nice but it should not be illegal and should not be so frowned upon. The day my ability to think what I want about people is taken from me is the day hell freezes over. I personally am not a racist but if I or someone else wants to be that is their decision.
