I am african american and my neighbor is Caucasian, and an older individual, she calls the office and police on me if I bar-b-cue or if I close my door to hard, literally any given reason. My 6 year old daughter just moved in with me a she(the neighbor) leaned over the privacy fence and snarled at my daughter! The police have been at my door 5-6 times within 3 months. and I can't count how many times the rental office has called me for unsubstantiated accusations, I am being harassed at this point. Can I break my lease for these reasons?

Update:first of all for those who did not totally read this, my neighbor calls the police on me if I BARBEQUE, through the day time. and second I am not on welfare and I work at a Logistic company making good money, next why would she snarl at a 6 yr old that is sitting on, need I mind you, her own porch! She also met my husband first who she only sees on the weekend when he is not working. No, I definitely am not a racist, frankly, I don't care if you are green, just show some respect. I have had the police at my door because the tv was up to loud for her and because I closed my door! Where is my right to live when I pay my bills and rent on time!!!!

No, you cannot. This is between you and your neighbor. The landlord has nothing to do with your squabbles with the lady.
Want to break your lease? You need to find another excuse.
sounds like you are the one bringing race into it - why can't she just have a problem with you? is your problem with her because she is white? i just don't get it, we keep hearing about racial profiling and how bad it is but we also keep hearing how EVERYTHING that happens to someone of color is because of race...
but to answer your question, if you can prove the rental agency is harassing you because of your race then yes you can break your lease - but if all they are doing is following up on complaints they receive, that is not harassment...
Additional - NOTHING you have said in any way relates to racism. have you tried talking with your neighbor? maybe she has times during the day when she needs a little extra quiet, maybe she is a racist, but you won't know until you actually talk to her. regardless, your lease is not with your neighbor.
First of all, we don't use the term "caucasian" any more. It's politically incorrect and outdated unless the woman is actually from the Caucasus region (southern Russia, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijain). The word is "white" or "european-american."
Second, why do you think that she has a problem with you because of your race? There could be 100 other reasons why she doesn't like you and your daughter that have nothing to do with your race.
Sounds like the neighbor has a problem with you personally. Maybe you should try to sit down one day and talk to her like two civilized adults. And for the love of GOD, not every white person is racist!
Keep flooding the rental office regarding incidents with the neighbor and her behavior towards you (make certain that you are able to substantiate your accusations). Also, let them know that if they don't do anything about it that you will file a law against the rental office, not against the neighbor. I wouldn't mention anything about getting out of the lease, just keep pounding them with the law suit they are gonna get if they don't do something to stop your neighbor's behavior.
It is up to the property owner to provide an environment that is compatible with the renters.
