Use logic instead of emotion. Doesn't it make more sense to look more carefully at young Arab men at airports rather than children, old ladies or even Al Gore? If most crimes are committed by blacks and Latinos (sorry for the inconvenient facts, liberals), doesn't it make more sense to question a young black man loitering in a park at night?
The only argument against racial profiling is that someone will have their feelings hurt.
Appearances are the most recognizable thing about us.
Statistics will show you the percentages of certain crimes being commited by certain groups...for instance most terrorists are males between 17-40, of Middle Eastern descent.
If there was a report of a 5'6" white female 110 lbs bank robber in the area, I would be more than happy to eliminate myself as a suspect so the cops could get the real criminal.
i don't think you need much research for this. It's mostly about applying logic to the situation.
For example, your point should be that racial profiling shouldn't be used to unfairly target and punish certain races; rather, it should be used to protect the greater good by narrowing down suspects when it is clear that a certain race who fits a certain profile is much, much, much more likely to be associated with a certain illegal activity.
This is a fact that many liberal people don't want to deal with because they think it tramples on individual rights.
You're not going to find evidence that supports this because people who are opposed to racial profiling try to prohibit these statistical studies form being conducted or published.
interview a young police officer. they are trained to avoid racial profiling... but through experience it becomes apart of their views (trust me, know a lot of police officers...as friends).
start your debate small with a real life example... like how teachers judge their students with first impressions. (in the end your debate is graded by the teacher, so relate it to him/her and suck up a little). say something like year after year teachers see many students and they can usually tell whick ones will give 100% and which ones dare not try...ect.
In your debate you are on the side for profiling, that doesn't mean you support it in all areas of life. just make sure to give a few situations where it can be used for better results. let everyone know that it is real...because it is, tell how you wish it wasn't necesary but everyone is brought up in a different environment.. bronx vs. beverly hills.
police officers, teachers, a judge ect... give real life examples. its the key to this debate cause you're on the less favorable side. one more idea is a gas station clerk watching one group over another because he thinks they are more likely to steal, or rob the place... be creative and use examples with a little bit of data to back up your examples... like 56% of gas station mugged were by african americans (not real data but you get the idea). good luck!
The time era racial profiling is extremely cheating there are a number of factors in touch in a criminal profile of which races is merely one. to confirm that regulation enforcement to be effectual a suspects description isn't racial profiling it merely describes the persons that are suspect. whilst a financial employer is robbed and a teller supplies an define of the robber that's not profiling that's figuring out the criminal. that's secondary the race of the robber the teller is merely figuring out the thief.
Put it this way. Whta do you think would happen if a white man walked through Compton in the middle of the night- he'd almost 99% of the time, get shot.
What would happen if a black man walked through a white neighborhood at night, he may get questioned by the local police, but that's about it.
check El Al racial profiling, El Al lap top and strip searches of non jewish women, US customs targets African american women.
US custums target women travelling alone that they feel met a drug dealer while vactioning in the caribbean or latin america, and they place the drugs in the bags with the women knowing it. . those were the women that they have been catching in the past.
El Al targets non Jewish women travelling alone, minorities and arabs. The feel women alone have or met an arab boyfriend and he place eplosives in the bags.
It seems like common sense to me. Say someone robbed a bank and they put out a description of the thief. Do you think it would help if you knew the race? sure.. I can't figure that hurting any ones feelings.

lets talk about percentages
70 - 85 % of violent crimes are committed by blacks so when i profile I am basing it facts.
Are all muslims terrorists, no but the reality is over 70 % of all terrorism is committed by muslims
Jews control 40% of the worlds money but only represent >5% of the population
ALl these come from stereotypes, Stereotypes are based on fact
IE: blacks like fried chicken...well they do.
Jews like money...they do
muslims are terrorists.....They do commit over 70% of terrorist acts
whites like blondes....Fact
So by checking my percentages You could argue that since these crimes are committed mostly by a certain race, that profiling would keep us safer.
Hope this slant helps your project.

Stereotypes got to be that way for a reason.

Think about the merits of focusing on young arab males at airport security, for example.
