In a sociology/racism class, I learned some of the stereotypes that different groups have about each other - these are just SOME of them:
- All Black men: are lazy, are thugs and drug dealers
- All Black women; have bad attitudes, have big butts, are on welfare
- All Black people: are always late, love fried chicken.
-All White people: don't season their food, their babies all look alike, are sexually uninhibited, and smell like wet dogs.
- All Asians: are really good in math and science, love to eat rice, are really short, they all know about martial arts.
- All Hispanics: live with tons of family members, will do any kind of work, are sneaky are are illegal.
My question: Do you believe any of these stereotypes? Where do you think these stereotypes come from?

stereotypes are based on truth. it is simply a lot of people in different places having very similar experiences. so it is not all made up.. the problem is when you start saying ALL.. but it obviously happens enough times for most people to draw the same conclusion. ..
I think I am guilty of small stereotypes, not much about black men, I have met mostly very smart, handsome, well rounded black men... and although Ive met a few black women with the same, they told me that they have attitudes, and seemed more prejudice than me. I think thats pretty much the only stereotype I am truly guilty of. I dont believe ALL of one race are anything but I believe that the stereotypes are made because the majority of people fit them... usually, not always..
Stereotypes are rooted in truth. All those things can be generally applied to their respective races. Asians do excel in math, are generally shorter than whites or blacks, do practice martial arts more than any other race, and rice is a main staple of their diet. What's the problem with that?
Being white, I have to take umbrage to smelling like a wet dog, but if that is the consensus, so be it.
In short, stereotypes are just broad generalizations that have been made through informal observation and are, yes, generally true.
Stereotypes come from exagerating the truth on a small population of a certain racial group!
By the way you forgot about how all black men have huge penis's
Ha ha just joking
Most stereotyping are because of misconception or lack of understanding of other people. Most of them are not true, or at least do not reflect the the reality.
Stereotyping is the game we all play to simplify our decision making process in human interactions!
Stereotypes exist on the basis of observation. To assume without investigating is a prejudice. That is, to judge before hand without evidence. Stereotypes do exist. We all know this. And in each group. Further, if you're part of any particular group, they become acute, and accurate. Self fullfilling.
No, because everyone you described in those stereo-types is a member of my family, lol. All except the one about Asians.
LOL
Honey, those aren't stereotypes, those are trademarks.
