Im a African American, black, wateva you wanna call it? I Love all races, my girlfriend for 1 1/2 yrs is white (italian, german). Race is never a problem in our relationship, even though she doesn't understand where im coming from all the time! I have no problem with any race but i just want to kno why white people love acting like my people weren't treated like ****! White ppl always say it was a long time ago and we should get over it! I know slavery was a long time ago but segregation wasn't! I'm 20 years old and my Aunt told me stories about how her school was stuffed with 6-12thgrade students. My aunt shared a classroom with 60 children. Not to mention her old school only had 6 classrooms. The school white kids were going to is the high school i graduated from (SHS), it had 3 floors. She also told my how white ppl would spit and hit them and they couldn't do anything about it. I'm not going to get over this because it hurts my heart to know that my family members including my mom had to deal with that! White ppl own the usa thats why they cant open their eyes to the fact that racism is still alive. Black ppl have a disadvantage in the US because we have no Roots(white ppl can trace their roots to europe or wateva, ours go straight to the south where our ancestors were slaves) its not fair.People say were from africa but we're not african, Blacks are the only race that was ever man made. wat i mean by that is we aren't african we're not american we're what white ppl wanted us to be. Whites had a 200 year head start in the us. And i wanna know why white ppl always say "We're not all the same" But being black is a category all the time, the way you dress BLACK, the way you talk BLACK, the way you walk BlACK ect. And know this is not for all white ppl because some of the coolest ppl i kno are white! And know i dont want white ppl to appologize for what they did to my ppl I want the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA too, Obama can do it! And its kinda funny how the us appologized to the jews for the holocaust and that was in germany!

Yes, I am not African American. I am white, but I can see where people aren't really sensitive enough. So true. I think those people (and I'm not saying I agree with this) choose to snub it because THEY weren't the people that treated people awfully. But I also think you're kind of looking at the glass half-empty. Look how far we have come! Don't focus your energy on the negative people who tell you to "get over it," focus on how much better your being treated than your relatives.
When you hear people talk this way there is absolutely no way that they will understand where you're coming from even with the most logical, eloquent perspective. Their minds are closed because their hearts are closed. The only way that they can see is if God opens their eye's to "see".
I have known some white's who without saying a word could "see" where we or others are coming from-even without experiencing something like us or those before us and that is truly a blessing. You cannot make people see or understand, because it is a lot more to it than words and experience. It is true understanding. You cannot continue to force your view of thing's on to people. Sometimes it is simply not meant for them to understand.
This goes for any point of view.

in a way ur being prejudice u keep sayin ur trying to be black ur catagorizing urself and then blaming any one that isnt "black" and the way ur trying to blame everyone that isnt black and that hasnt been through a tuff time. I have never spit at a different race i have never discrimanated any one because the colour of there skin. I see where you're coming from. Sometimes it is hard to date somebody of a different race because you need someone to relate to. I don't think it's that big of a deal to end a relationship over but it can still be annoying. (And I'm African American by the way)
I know how you feel my friend. I hate the way white people have it so easy comparing to minorities and they take it for granted. I really hope that Obama as president will help race relations in the years to come.
