We did a short sale in NV. The Realtor damage our home without our knowledge. They closed on the home and told mus two days later and now want us to pay with our home owners insurance. Do we need to or is it the realtors issues?
Update:We live out of state and we have not seen the damage. It went from Kitchen cabinet and floor to the entire Kitchen and two floors. The Realtor was our and the buyer agent. The Realtor is offering to pay our increase in insurance for five years along with our deductible. They did not do a final walk through until the second day after the close of escrow. This is when they found the damage. We also have a As-Is addendum that the buyer signed.

It would seem to me you would be covered by the "As-Is" addendum.
If the Buyer had a problem with anything about the house, they should have brought it up before closing. They didn't say anything before the close of escrow, there is no way of knowing they didn't do the damage them selves, now it's either their problem or the Realtor's problem if the Realtor actually damaged the home.
u do not own the house. the old house insurance is not in effect.
the house was bought with damage.
new owners accepted it Damaged = they pay.
contact NV board of realtors for info.
not enough details. Like when the damage was done and what damage there was.
You settled the house. It's their home now and they are responsible for the home. This is the reason you have an inspection right before settlement.
