im just curious how what speculations there are to reclassing, my window opens up in 8 months however i dont want to reclass til after i finish our deployment which we leave in february, im airborne 11b. its great and all but its not something i wanna stay in, just doing it for the experience, i got a 110gt 60asvab,
i dont know what i want to be yet, medic or something possibly still looking into things,
afew questions i have, can i do it ? is it possible to reclass after deployment,
will i lose my MGIB?
im active duty,
and i dunno, anything else you would add?
i have 3 year contract, and my retention officer said that 24 months before i ETS is when my window opens, he said in like 6-8 months he will be talking to me about re enlisting, isnt that when i can reclass?

You can reclass and put in for a PCS (possibly with your choice of duty station), and get a fat bonus (especially while deployed)... You will have a broad choice of what you can reclass into with a 110 GT score. Medic would be a good job, but there isn't much of a job market in the civilian world for one without a degree. There are plenty of jobs to choose from, just go on the goarmy.com website and do some research, also talk to some of your battle buddies that have been around for a while....
Be sure to get it all in your contract (i'm sure you already knew this)...........
Also you'll have a 90 day stabilization period after deployment, but you can waive that and move on to your reclass school or PCS.....
If you have an RE code of RE-1 on your DD 214 when you were released back in 06, you should keep your pay grade and mos upon enlistment. If the Technology has changed a lot and you need to be re-schooled to become current, you may not get E-4 until completion of schooling. meps will answer all these questions. The Recruiter might not be familiar with re- enlistments. Someone in the Recruiting Command should be familiar with re-enlistments and can answer your questions. Good Luck.
You will not lose MGIB or any benefits unless your initial contract has some "provision" in it which they normally don't.
feel free to ask around to people you know and see what they think of their jobs,
P.S. 110 gt you can be lots of things,
i like aviation stuff, like crewchiefs and helicopter repair stuff
your choice though
