I think I want a chevy colorado for my first truck but I'm not sure whether to get a regular or extended cab. So which is better? By the looks, the extended cap doesn't look much bigger than the regular.

Hello Dakota,
This must be an exciting time, considering a purchase of your first truck! I see people have helped answer your question and I agree; the extended cab is better for more room. I recommend going to the dealer and sitting in each vehicle to compare in person on your own. If you would like to further discuss more features or options you are wanting, I can help with that also. I can also be contacted for any other questions you may have. We can be reached via email on this site.

The answer is going to depend on your size and what you expect to carry inside the truck. An extended cab will give you more room and if you are tall or larger, this may be needed in a smaller truck.
Try sitting in each one, to see which is more comfortable.
If you want to carry anything in the cab the extended cab is a better choice
I bought my first extended cab in 1995 and still own it plus one other. I would never go back to the regular cab now. You have indoor room for a couple passengers plus a place to put things for safe keeping. A topper on the truck bad is fine but not heated or cooled. I would buy the extended cab again if need be.
If your going to buy one, might as well get the larger one just in case you need the extra room
