Is it absolutely required to replace the shaft seal when replacing the clutch? Is there any way to do it without removing it? I think my landlord did it that way but he won't tell me! =)
You wont have to replace any shaft seals (unless if you manage to tear one up)
Replacing the clutch you need to seperate the engine and transmission, replace the clutch disk and pressure plate and then get the flywheel resurfaced (or get a new one) Then re-assemble with proper torquing of bolts.
