There is a great restaurant on the main street in Cozumel! It is not far from the cruise ship docks and the ferry docks, and is by the plaza. It is open air, has fans over every table, and is frequented by local residents, ships' crews, and tourists. The food is very, very good, primarily Mexican but with some regular American dishes, too. It is moderate in cost. The staff is always friendly and pleasant. As to worrying about getting sick, I've been going there for over 3 years without problem, and have never heard of anyone having a problem, either. (Cozumel has its own water treatment facilities, and is generally very, very safe with the water.) The freshly made tortilla chips and salsa are excellent with a beer, and the quesadillas are great!

i went to Cozumel, Cancun, And Isla Mujeres and the only food available was from my hotel, and it was good.

There's Bubba's Shrimp and Dominos and stuff.

But the only good food is from local family-owned restaurants.
