We cruised on a Freedom a couple yrs ago and have done many RC cruises. Drinks are between $7 and $9 including the 15% gratuity added to each check. The drink of the day is usually at least $1.00 to $200 cheaper. Also, drinks are cheaper if you specify that you don't want them in a souvenir glass. Beer and wine are between $6 and $7 and you can buy a bucket.
Here's the latest on food; for the most part free but a couple places where there is a fee: "Meals from many onboard venues, such as the Main Dining Room and Windjammer Café, are included in the price of your cruise. There is a $20.00 USD per person service charge to dine at the Portofino Restaurant and a $25.00 USD per person service charge for Chops Grille. To dine in Johnny Rockets, there is a $4.95 USD per person service charge. All prices subject to change."
There is a fee for the Ben & Jerry's ice cream shop on the pedestrian mall, but you can order ice cream with lunch and dinner for free.
First off, I went on the Freedom in March and loved it! Being one of the biggest ships in the world, you won't be dispointed!
Prices for drinks & wine vary, but isn't much more expensive than a normal bar. Cocktails ranging from $4-$8 per drink depending on what it is. At dinner and bars they have wine by the glass or bottle. (if you order a bottle of wine at dinner & don't finish it, they will cork it and store it for you so you can have it with dinner the next night)
During the day they have drink specials by the pool, priced around $5-$7 dollars. Everyday by the pool they had beer bucket specials which are very cheap. I believe it was 5 beers for $6 or $7 bucks. ALSO unlike Princess royal caribbean does have CORONA.
Johnny Rockets and ben and jerry's do have a extra charge to them. Johnny Rockets I think was a $3.50 charge, but ALL you can eat, it's a fun experience. I wouldnt bother with the Ben & Jerry's because there are ice cream machines throughout the cruise ship that are included. (dairy queen style soft serve) Very yummy!!
