so im hearing a lot that benzoyl peroxide helps acne but it also causes premature aging and skin thinning. Iv also heard that salicylic acid is somehow harmful to the skin. So is this true or false?
i usually use products that have these chemicals, but id rather not if its going to cause aging. should i just try organic products? or are these chemicals ok to use on my skin?

I'm almost 20 and started getting pretty severe acne when I was about 15. My dermatologist prescribed benzoyl peroxide and I have been using it pretty much every day ever since then.
It CAN be bad for your skin/cause premature aging if you wear it in the sun, but as long as you moisturize (and use a face lotion with SPF in it if you can), you'll be fine. For me, it did absolute wonders for clearing up my skin and I couldn't be more grateful. Also, if you're really worried about it, you can get a benzoyl peroxide treatment that's not quite as strong as the usual (for instance, there's a treatment you can buy on Amazon from acne.org that contains only 2.5% BP-- as opposed to a brand like Benzaclyn for instance, which I think is much stronger and contains about 10% BP).
I do not recommend salicylic acid. For me, it just stung my skin and inflamed it more. And WHATEVER you do, do not use benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid at the same time (trust me, it's a recipe for disaster!!)
Hope this helps :)
*Edited to add: sorry, I reread your question and realized you said you already are using products that have these chemicals in them. If it's working for you then keep using them!! Just also remember to moisturize.
The pill works like, miracles. Honestly. I went to a dermatologist and he put me on it, inn September i think that was, my skin was pretty bad back then. And seriously now my skin is completely clear. Not one pimple. It was one of the best things i've ever donee. And when it doesn't work for the first two months, don't stop using it. It takes a few months, but you won't have another problem with ur skin. So I suggest going to a dermatologist. Lol :]
Change your diet and get in shape, especially if your overweight or fat, and your acne will improve. As for these chemicals, there always temp. never permanent. So i guess keep searching if you don't want my advice :)
You will be absolutely safe to use these and they are not harmful to your skin as long as you use them properly. Remember to always use sunscreen and your skin will look great!
