I'm sorry you couldn't get motivated by high school years. It may be too late now to finish school, given your low estimation of success.
Sometimes it's best to just do what you felt you should do, all along.
Quit. Try to make it in life without the credentials, without the standard diploma. It does work for some.
If you can get into a trade, do construction, a driver, a machine operator, that could work for you. It worked for the past few generations.
However, now, even to take truck driver courses, or learn to operate a Bob-Cat for a construction job, they will screen you. Not just a drug test, but will require you produce a high school diploma.
Why should anyone take a chance on someone who didn't take advantage of their opportunity for an education?
What to do? Maybe quit, and apply for a GED. Take some free GED classes, maybe you can pass that test, first or second try.
That way, you can qualify to do something else with your life.
In five years, you may discover, that everyone is still "learning" and retraining. Hardly anyone can make it past 5 years, without improving themselves, returning to classes.
Most large businesses will pay for their employees to return to school, or to take "professional development" classes. They do not want to hire anyone without a diploma, or GED, it would be a risky choice for them.
Abraham Lincoln was said to be self-educated. You can do that too, but still today, people want to see a "diploma".
Please get a GED. Your parents failed you, IMO, so please do not fail yourself!!!!!
Good Luck, it's your future now.
I had a really hard time in school also. I was a smart kid, it was just that I was more mature than most and ready to move on with life and being an adult. I ended up going to a class for a week to study for my GED and then went and took the test. I would not recommend dropping out altogether. You need to at least a General Eduaction Diploma (GED).
Get the job, take the GED later when you feel you need it. Find your talent and love doing it. You will learn so much more from a real job than can be taught in school. It's you life now you are in charge.
Just get your GED
