I think so because it could sawy many voters his away. He could say that because Palin's daughter got pregnant, it show's that Sarah Palin's abstinence only idea is bull ****. Also, he could say that because Sarah Palin can't be trusted to manage her daughter, she can't be trusted to manage 300 million people. Now don't tell me that Barack Obama already said that he won't target Bristol Palin. I already know that. Agree?
Update:Chet S: Great, and I mean great, post.

I would for a variety of reasons
You open with sympathizing with her dilemma and that, if you were int he same position, you might do the same thing.
however, politicians are not accorded the same courtesies as regular people. All are held to a higher standard. You cannot preach family values while allowing your underage daughter to have unprotected sex and getting pregnant in the meantime, allowing the father to get off scot-free.
IF THIS IS TRUE, this is the kind of at-the-waterline detonation that can sink the republicans
No, Barack is making a wise and moral choice here. Taking the high road and not so much as implying anything about Palin's daughter is the way to go. Any criticism on this particular issue would not only be wrong, it would backfire horribly and make Obama look like a "typical evil politician" which is exactly what the Repubs want.
The Repubs need Barack to do something stupid or immoral. Barack has not and will not do anything of the sort, which is why you see Conservatives on here and other places constantly trying to make a mountain out of every molehill in Obama's lifetime.
Hey buddy. I got pregnant when I was seventeen, kept my baby and got married. I have a college degree and I'm just fine. And I can tell you one thing...the fact that I got pregnant had NOTHING to do with my parents. I was raised in a devout Christian family and I made a mistake. I did what I feel was right by keeping the baby and I have had the biggest blessing of my life from that decision. Just because Palin supports abstinence (which my parents did), has nothing to do with her daughter getting pregnant. It's called free will. It's also called being seventeen and thinking you know it all and I know that first hand. But before this happened with Palin it made me angry to hear people blame MY poor decision on my parents. It has nothing to do with them.
seems like his minions and supporters are already doing this. it will backfire on them.
republicans have not exploited Obama’s father who was a polygamist and had at least seven kids. how many fatherless kids did Obama's dad produce into poverty. Obama was lucky to have a 'typical' white grandmother who loved him and worked to give him her best at an age she should have be enjoying life when Obama was 'dumped' on her.
his father was also an ecoholic and he abandoned all of his kids. f abortion had been legal then, maybe Obama himself would not be here now. Republicans have not exploited this because it would be wrong and because Obama had no control over the circumstances of his birth, his mother or his father.
i hope that they will in the words of Obama talking about his wife, lay off her and show a little bit of class.
NO! There are plenty people out there that are doing there job -GREAT and you don't what is going on with there family life. So what does this have to do with Palin doing her job as VP .
Don't get it wrong ...I am with Obama ...A person should get a job base on how good that you think they will do the job. Not base on what is in the family closet! M
No. He can let ultra-conservatives voicing their disapointment take care of that. Keep in mind, Obama's mom had him when she was teenager. And by working with Chicago's poor, he's encountered and worked with a lot of teenager mothers.
I think if he were to attack Palin's daughter he would lose the respect of a lot of us supporters and I think he would come across as a jerk picking on a young teen.
He said this issue is off limits. You said not to tell you that, but it's critical to your question. It would not be a good idea for him to even bring it up the issue again. To do so in the manner you suggest would probably do 10x more harm than good. Politicians are all about promises. It's not good to give the impression that you can't keep your word.
No. It's a family matter and family should be off limits. And girls get pregnant whether they pledge abstinence or learn birth control. And a parent can't control their 17 year old daughters completely.
My only question is why did they announce the name of the boyfriend? Why drag him into the media fray?
No. He won't gain anything at this point.
If he makes a big deal out of it, Palin will get all the sympathy vote.
Besides, the cat's already out of the bag. Any damage to be done will happen anyway.
No, so some distance as i'm worried, he's been the candidate when you consider that great Tuesday. It replaced into purely a count of time till Hillary's plastic smile caught up together with her. i'm uncertain why the media is so shocked... he's been the glaring winner for months. besides, i'm purely bored with the full political nonsense and the media's lack of expertise in reporting. i could no longer undergo to divert my interest in that direction.
