When I was in a similar situation I always choose the Similac early sheild it is supposed to be the closest to breast milk and it is the same company that makes it as the alimentum. My daughter still had the allergy so it never worked though. Did your ped say anything about similac sensitive?
I have been using the Similac since the hospital and my boy likes it. He has been constipated but they say its common for babies. But I do prefer the Similac Advance with Early Shield. Good Luck!
I used similac with my first child and enfamil with my second. I think if you compare ingredients all brands are basically the same at each level (i.e. soy formula by similac and soy formula by enfamil). We actually switched recently with my second child from enfamil to the Wal-Mart brand--the ingredients match almost 100% and it's half the price.
i'm with seabrey. when i stopped breastfeeding, we used the Wal Mart brand of formula. It is EXACTLY the same!!! Only half the price. All formula is FDA regulated, so anything you pick will be okay. Wal Mart also has the different types (sensitive, etc).
My son did NOT do well with Simliac. He was very gassy and spit up alot. We switched him to Enfamil Gentlease and as soon as we did it was smooth sailing.
