how much coffee are you drinking, and what time is your last cup.
the older you get the more sensitive to caffeine you become, even if it NEVER bothered you before, it can start at anytime.
different/new medicine can do it too. even the same med, but a new brand can do it.
if your drinking energy drinks -don't, just stop.
even those 5 hour shots, for some of us can really get you wired for a whole day and night.
I speak from personal experience.
same with Chocolate, don't eat it late at night, the caffeine in it can keep you awake.
even brownies can do it, or chocolate cake!!
not enough exercise, exercise is just plain good for you. not strenuous night. go for a walk unwind.
try yoga a few times during the week, ( not at night) you would be shocked what that can do for your sleep. your brain, your whole being, very zen.
pop!! pop is the worst and every one drinks it ALL FRICKEN DAY LONG. get off caffeine and pop if you drink it.
if you must, don't drink any caffeine past 1-2 pm, don't do extra shots if your drinking that late in the day
stress, don't take naps during the day, even if your dying to lay down for just 5 minutes, just say no. room not dark enough, too many blankets. to hot or to cold.
you might try getting a fan, turn it away from you, and get the white noise that a fan makes, for some this is like the sound of the wind, or the ocean,
there are some really great tapes CDs for just that. even decaffeinated coffee, even green tea, some have caffeine in them. even that little bit, could be the culprit!
for some of us, its enough to mess up a good night sleep.
try NOT to stress about not sleeping, I know that sound impossible, but that can make it worse.
get a book.
get a mask for you eyes, sometimes just the slight pressure of a mask, can make your eyes and then your brain feel heavy, that with the complete darkness, can do the trick.
warning,,,,, don't forget to lift the mask when you get up in the morning, before you take that first step lol.
you could try hypnosis?! massage. even just getting your kids, loved one to LIGHTLY rub your feet, the back of your legs, almost like a tickle, but not
that will put me out evey time, IF i can find someone to do it.
hope these ideas help, i know not being able to sleep it the WORST, but you can conquer this.
