Hi,
It could be that you are imagining something. This often happens. If you are able to play without pain than nothing is wrong. However if this causes you pain, then you should see a doctor.
Drink plenty of water the day before and on the day your playing.
It might sound totally weird but don't drink a whole bottle or glass quickly. You have to sip fluids, football players are told to sip there drinks so the body can take it in slowly and evenly hydrating their bodies. If you watch a game of football at half time or when an injury occurs notice how the players sip their drinks. Being properly hydrated also improves a players performance!
This should solve your dry lip issue, don't lick your lips it make it worse! Give the sipping a try if that doesn't work get some lip balm for your drug store or chemist.
Hope that helps
Uhm not exactly but anyways. Beckham...you probably don't even watch soccer that is just the most well known soccer player in America but they lay there for a minute to fake out the ref. so the other player has a possibility of getting carded. And if not that the player who was tripped or whatever happened gets a penalty kick. Athletic?? how are you going to choose that if you have only seen them play in a game.
lol bro that happens to me as well it's no biggy really it's just that when you are playing an actual game you are taking in oxygen at higher rate or something and you mouth gets dried but at home you don't play like an intense 90 minute soccer game and you're more relaxed so it doesn't happen. What i do is before i'm starting an actual game i like put some water in my mouth and like swallow it and then after every 10 seconds i try and get saliva in my mouth so it doesn't dry out and it helps. but yeah it's not that big of an issue trust me.
The reason your mouth is dry is because you breath in and out of your mouth. Do what's called "controlled breathing" Just breath in your nose and out your mouth. It's hard to at times, but it really lets you catch your breath and you don't have to wet your mouth as often.

Put a small hard candy or life saver in your mouth. It will keep your mouth wet ... and make your breath smell better :-)
