You can spend however much money you want, but the Sony will be cheaper in the long run and will be able to do everything the Mac can do and then some more. If you do games, then you'll definitely want to run Windows as the primary operating system since Mac is not gamer friendly at all, even after you install Windows via BootCamp or Parallels (or whatever virtualization program you use). The Sony is more than capable of handling photo editing, movies and music. You can get better hardware for cheaper than the Mac if you stick with Windows, which means that your Windows machine will be more powerful than the Mac, even though the Mac uses the exact same components as every other machine but charges you quadruple the price for them.
