Our cat has out of the blue started getting sores all over. She has them on her head, back of the neck, under her chin, and down her spin. She makes it worse by scratching and chewing at it. Do you have any idea where this came from or what it is? Thanks in advance!

Two things come to mind for me. Fleas or ringworm. I've seen a lot of posts about ringworm on the board lately, and I don't understand why. Maybe it's the time of year for it.
Anyway, it would probably be best to have a vet take a look. Cats are so delicate, you have to be careful what you use on them. Things that are fine for every other species of life on earth can do terrible things to cats.
I hope your kitty gets to feeling better real soon. That sounds just awful for her.
you should really take the cat to the vet, (if you found it a month ago and have taken ownership of it, you would have been wise to do so a month ago for vaccinations and discussing the possibility of neutering.) the sores could be anything from an alergy that he's over itched, scabies, the onset of mange, fleas, mites, he should be seen by a vet to diagnose him, and get him vaccinated for his (and your) protection if you plan to keep him as a pet. do not use "homemade" remedies on a cat whose health history you do not know. NEVER use human medications without advice from a vet. you don't know how many pets I've seen die by well meaning people giving what they feel are "safe" human meds. Lets just say, it was a lot. If you can't afford the vet bills, you can take it to a local shelter and ask if their vet is willing to help you out. Many shelter vets are usually willing to help out someone who is serious about doing what's best for a pet that they feel can give a good forever home, keeping them from Euthanasia. At least around where I live, they are very kind and helpful to people who are in financial situations, but want to take good care of their pets. So try that first if you can't afford a vet. if you're not financially able to take care of the cat, you could also turn it over to them.
you need to take the cat to the vet as soon as possible my friend had an animal with the similar thing and if I remember correctly it was a dermatelogical issue with the skin...nothing serious but it is uncomfortable for the animal
she could have an allergy or is scratching herself bloody. could be flea dermatitis or a food reaction. do you bathe her at all or is she a self groomer(i have one of each!) best bet is a trip to the vet for a skin scrape. yuck.
sounds like flea bite allergies. have her checked out by your vet and get her on a flea preventative
Could be a parasite, maybe "ring worm", fungus.
