When I was a child, my cousin died of sudden cardiac arrest. He was 28 with no history of any kind of illness. A few years ago a friend died at age 36, He went to the Dr. the day before and was given a clean bill of health. Again, no history of any abnormalities and he was very healthy. A few weeks ago one of my 49 year old co-workers died at her desk. She did have a weight problem, but no history or evidence of heart disease. Below is a web site that can give you all kinds of information.
No. Age has nothing to do with it. Sometimes you have a family history. Like my son who was 47 and was on the potty and dropped dead. If his wife had not been there to do cpr, he would not be here today. Non smoker, not over weight, normal BP. But his father died at early age from the same thing. Things happen!
No, it can happen at any age to perfectly healthy looking individuals if they develop a clot or have undiagnosed valve problems or any undiagnosed cardiac abnormality or are genetically predisposed to early heart disease.
