I like Supergirl better. Basically Superman they took a really cool potential character with alot of pathos from being from a world that died with all the loss that would bring and the struggles to adapt to a new world....and then they sucked all of that interesting stuff out by having him arrive on Earth as an infant.
Superman is just a regular dude from Kansas with preposterous superpowers. He's not alien in any meaningful way.
Supergirl on the other hand was a teen when krypton exploded. She has the pathos of lost family, friends, culture, and such. She has to adapt to an alien culture and technology base. She's also frequently portrayed in a way that allows for her to be fallible. Clark is often portrayed as perfect...or nearly so. Kara makes mistakes and can therefore have more interesting stories.
Unfortunately, the TV show has instead portrayed Supergirl as basically Superman in a skirt. She's practically a clone of her cousin. It's also devolved into nonstop political posturing that barely even TRIES to actually tell stories anymore.
