How does a surgical tech work day look like? Are they off weekends? Could they be off weekends? Can they have a social life?
Im asking because im considering becoming one and it seems from what ive been reading they work 24/7 . What do people mean when they say they are on "swing" ?
What would a new surgical tech grad be getting paid? Is all the work they do enough for how much they get paid?

Christina,
You've asked this question 3 times today and I already answered once. If you are worried about schedules, then sit down and look at job listings for where you are and find out what it hiring.
You've asked probably 20 questions about health care jobs recently and 30 over the last year. It's time to buckle down and stop asking random question every 8 hours. Most of us are happy to help you, but when we feel like we are talking to a brick wall, it doesn't make us want to help you more.
I told you that Sugrical/Scrub techs hours vary by where they work. A surgery center tech may work 7-6 daily and make $50k-$60k. A hospital tech may be on call and work overnights and make $25-$40k.
Swing shift is usually 4pm to midnight, or thereabouts. Overnights might be 7-7.
A new tech may work his butt off for a mediocre paycheck, but everyone in health care pays their dues. Keep working, keep learning, and make friends and you can get a better job with better pay and better hours.
I'm not too sure about the working conditions but does anyone working in a hospital have a weekends off? :)
Kidding aside, from what Ive read about salary, as in most jobs, surgical tech salary is highly dependent on experience and education. The Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that, as of 2010, the national median pay for individuals working in these positions was just under $40,000 per year.
Surgical technician salary tends to be much higher than the national average for all types of jobs and slightly higher than the pay for other health technician and technologist jobs. Still, surgical tech pay is lower than many other types of technician jobs, such as that of an x-ray tech salary, which averages nearly $10,000 more than surgical technician pay.
The pay for surgical technologists, of course, varies. The lower end of the pay scale begins at around $28,000, while more experienced technicians can eventually raise their income to over $57,000, according to bls.gov.
Hope that helps.

you're able to do instructions on line, yet you will choose medical hours (that are "in guy or woman") i chanced on it lots greater fee-effective to do it at a university, yet that became 4 years in the past while i became finding into it.
