The problem:
If 12.63g of AS2O3 is used in the reaction and 6.59g of As is produced, what is the percentage yeild?
Balanced equation:
2As2O3 + 3C ---> 3CO2 + 4As
how do i find both?
2 As2O3 + 3 C → 3 CO2 + 4 As
(12.63 g As2O3) / (197.84149 g As2O3/mol) x (4 mol As / 2 mol As2O3) x
(74.921602 g As/mol) = 9.5658 g As in theory
(6.59 g As) / (9.5658 g As) = 0.689 = 68.9% yield
