Yes time travel is possible and it has been done, but not by humans yet... Albert Einstein and a group of Physicists sent an Atomic Clock into orbit at an extremely high velocity. When the clock was recovered intact, it was exactly 0.0000000001 seconds forward of the actual time. Seeing as an Atomic clock is accurate to about 0.0000000000000000000001 seconds, this concludes that time travel is possible and when people will be sent travelling at a velocity close of that to light, there will be time travel. I couldn't say in which direction, to the future or the past but if there is: It will be kept a deep dark secret by the government. Here is a page on an amazing experiance about 100 years ago by a guy who created the world as we know it today who accidentally saw the past, present and future at the same time and almost died:

If time travel were possible, and the human race continues for thousands of years, then at some point the technology will be abused. It will not always be controlled by military officials obeying some sort of prime directive. Wouldn't you think a future Osama Bin Laden would just love to come back in time with future technology to rewrite the fate of his people? If time travel to the past were possible within our own timeline, we would have already been overrun by someone with technology we can't imagine.

That would have to depend on the features of the time travel machines, it seems.

I honestly believe that time travel is impossible. Maybe you can freeze yourself and wake up in the future. But, I think traveling to the past is impossible.

No time travel to past events doesnt seem possible but u can travel forwar into time, u just gotta put urself in a place with enormous gravity to the point that bends the rate at which time passes.

If "time travelers" walk the earth among us, we might not know, as much as they are unaware of themselves being from other time. Why? Quantum physics doesn't allow such awareness/realization: meaning, though existence/energy is almost a continuous energy wave state, it will collapse to be seen as particle when observed. It's like Everett's many-world collapsing into one world or like parallel universes with vibrating strings creating infinite number of 3D spatial dimension (as in Hilbert space) and yet you are stuck and confined to your own single 3D space/world: unaware of what lies beyond. Like a dreamer aware only of his dream, perhaps to avoid "time travel confusion".
