Say a person we'll call Person A goes back in time to kill someone. When Person A returns they see the world is worse as a result so they go back to stop themselves. (LKet's call the person going back Person B keeping in mind both are the same person). Is it actually possible for Person B to kill perosn A
If Person A dies Person B can't exist.
If the person's killed meaning they can't come and kill themselves what would happen?
Update:Yeah mdnomam. Just curious still.

This is more logic than physics :P
No, Person B cannot kill Person A. I think of it in terms of pathways - every object and action has to have a coherent timeline relative to itself. Since time travel is involved, this timeline doesn't need to have anything to do with normal time, but the rules of logic still apply (cause must precede effect, no creating something from nothing, etc.). Relative to Person B, the effect (Person A-B's death) would precede the cause (his killing of A). The fact that Person B exists is proof that Person A lived through their encounter with B. It's not so much that something would prevent the event from happening, but the fact that it has a chance to occur is, in this case, proof that it did not.
More simply, if B had killed A, he'd already be dead. (which makes no sense)
Strictly speaking, there's a problem with the basic assumption - upon traveling back in time and returning, the world would be unchanged: you did whatever it was you did in the past before you actually traveled back to change things. The timeline relative to you does not take precedence over the timeline relative to the rest of the world.
Theoretically yes. However, in reality time travel is not possible because nothing can travel faster than light. It is a fantasy, and like any other fantasy, sounds interesting but impossible. how I wish i could travel back in time.
