Torque is the flip-side of Horse Power. A car can have a million HP, but with no torque, it's not moving anywhere. Torque is the engines turning force, its what lets it climb steeper hills, pull heavier loads. Since it's a Corvette your talking about, more torque means the wheels are going to spin off the line, it will accelerate well (After the wheels stop spinning).
