I'm in the same situation. The other party must re-finance the vehicle under their name. However, you must look at the bright side. The vehicle is Yours, If they miss a payment you have the right to repossess the vehicle and drive it yourself, or sell it, or what ever. Now if they do not miss a payment than at the end of the contract you will have a better credit rating at the other individuals cost. The biggest problem is if they have an accident and total the vehicle you will be libel not only for the vehicle but also any damage they caused including any personal injuries. I hope you have more insurance on that vehicle than is required by the State..
In most cases, you cannot.
In very, very rare cases, the other person (not you) can "refinance" the car in their name alone, using only their social security number and only their credit, and not yours, but only if the lender agrees. However, if any lender was willing to agree to let the loan be in only your friend's name and credit, then your friend would not have needed to use your credit to get the car. If the lender refuses, which they probably will, and no other lender can be found to agree, then there is nothing that can be done. In any case, you cannot do it alone; it can be done only if a lender and your friend both agree.
What you are saying is you cosigned on a loan for it?
Only way to get your name and such off of the record is to have the other person take out a new loan, in their name only, to finish paying off the loan.
This will remove you from the original loan requirements as soon as it's paid off.
And with the other owner getting a loan on his/her own, all info credit and SS would be theirs and theirs only.
It could still show up on a credit report as it is a documented loan event. Once paid off though you can contact all three credit bureaus and ask them to remove it from your credit reports.
You can't. They can try to refinance on their own to get you out of the loop. But generally speaking when you cosign for someone, it lasts until the balance reaches zero and you will be hounded if they miss a payment, but you have no right to the vehicle. That's why you should not do it.
you could no longer flow a automobile very own loan. you may sell your automobile to the different individual, who will pay you cash that they get from their very own automobile very own loan, and you employ the money to pay off your individual very own loan. in case you think of you're purely going to enable somebody initiate making money to you, you heavily could seek this answer board for the masses of posts the place people have executed it and characteristic heavily regretted it.
They will have to re-finance the car in order to get you off of it.
