I live in New Jersey and have always wanted to travel to London. I'm trying to set up an airfare alert on a site but I see there are several London airports to choose from and I also have a few airports to choose from by me.
1. Which London airport should I be using if I want to stay in the city of London, not suburbs?
2. Does anyone happen to know the cheapest US airport to travel from? (Newark, JFK, LaGuardia, Atlantic City, Philadelphia, Trenton)
3. What time of the year is the cheapest for this travel?
Thanks!

All the London airports have good rail connections into the city.
Heathrow (LHR) is the only London airport with services from the NY/NJ airports - Stansted (STN) and Luton (LTN) don't handle any North American destinations, Gatwick (LGW) has flights from Atlanta, Calgary, Charlotte, Minneapolis, Orlando, Toronto, and Vancouver.
To Heathrow, British Airways, United, and Virgin Atlantic fly from Newark; British Airways and US Airways fly from Philadelphia; Air India, American Airlines, British Airways, Delta, Kuwait Airways, and Virgin Atlantic fly from JFK.
Fares are usually a bit lower between mid-September and just before Easter, except for the Christmas/New Year holiday period.
London Bridge is extra valuable than the others so i would pick that one. Hostels wouldn't be my quantity one choice of accommodation when visiting by myself but I consider if you have no cash, you do not rather have so much choice. Quite a few night buses will take you earlier London Bridge and being just about the city (monetary district), it can be very reliable during the day as it's filled with men in pinstripe fits. I am a girl who has lived in London for 10 years. I've on no account so much as been approached with the aid of any individual when touring on my own. This isn't Nigeria, this is likely one of the wealthiest cities on this planet. I travel on my own so much in the course of the day and at night time and have at all times been perfectly trustworthy. Without doubt i am no longer stupid and maintain to lit walkways where there are other people and don't stroll round with a colossal digital camera or jewellry.
You can easily get to the centre/city of London from Heathrow or Gatwick.
From what I understand Stanstead and Luton do not cater for flights from the USA.
I do not know what other airports you have been given, but what you save in flight costs, will be spent on trains etc getting into London
I have noi idea about which is the best USA airport to use or the costs.
