I want to know what i need to use to hook up to my tv to feed the audio and video to my laptop. for example.. i want to play my playstation and record the games on the laptop. i have all the software i need for the laptop, just need to get the images onto the laptop.. i have a 32in vizio with hdmi and all the other conncetions. and i have a dell inspiron

Im not sure you can do this without a video card for your laptop.
The VGA cable mentioned on the other answer will be ok for you to view your laptop on the TV however to record from the PS3 i think you will need to be able to take the signal from the PS3 its self.
