Some schools have physical education, but college is not high school. Most P.E. classes I had you wanted to go to. (ie beginner downhill snow skiing, advanced downhill snowskiing, and weight lifting.) Never once did I use a shower in the locker room. You have a dorm room for that.
Hahaha. Oh man. You're no longer in High School. Physical Education, as far as my vast understanding of higher education goes, is not a requirement at ANY university.
I took Tennis and Archery at Davis. Neither required showers.
You are not required to take any P.E. courses to graduate from a UC. Having never taken a P.E. course at my school (UCR), I couldn't honestly tell you what the requirements to pass the course are. That's something that you will have to ask the school.
No, you don't have to take P.E. - That was H.S. - You will not be forced to shower either, but if you want to make friends it will be highly reccommended that you shower, DAILY!!!

You do not have to take PE. You can participate in intra-mural sports but those are voluntary.
