approx. 4 days ago i got a vaginal infection which was treated.
the past couple of days after completing the antibiotic i'm having some issues such as thick yellow discharge, not always, but sometimes, however, there is no smell and no pain when urinating
please tell me what you think this is? do i need to go back to the doctor or should this thick yellow discharge not worry me?

If you are like me, you are very sensitive to antibiotics. Antibiotics kill both good and bad bacteria present which give grounds for a yeast infection to form.
Whenever I am prescribed antibiotics, I request at the same time a prescription for a yeast infection, knowing that I will have one as soon as the antibiotics are done.
I would go back to the doctor to discuss this, but keep in mind that this can be cause by a strong antibiotic killing off the good bacteria you need to keep a balance. If he agrees with this, remember it for the future so that you can make sure you already get the medicines prescribed to treat a possible yeast infection after antibiotics use. It is very common.
if you had to take a antibiotic from the doctor you probably had a bv problem. That's totally different from a yeast infection. Yeast infection medication can be bought over the counter. There are seven day treatment to one day treatment. Just remember this on rule to know the difference. If your discharge is yellow and clumpy or it pasty and can be flicked off your under-ware when dry, its a yeast infection. If the discharge is white (the color of milk) and slimy with a bad smell, its a BV problem. That one you have to get a prescription from the doctor. You can develop a yeast infection after a BV problem, or its possible you had them both at the same time and you only had cured one. If the problem keeps coming back increase your intake of water to 1 liter to 64 ounces of water a day. That way the bad bacteria will be continuously washed away. I hope this helps
If the vaginal infection was treated with a vaginal medication I would wait a while because sometimes this discharge is from the med itself however if you notice a bad smell call your doc. If your med was oral, give your doc a call and tell him what's up.
you shouldnt be worried about this, you just treated your infection so your body is getting rid of it. it should go away within a week
